Fun for the long weekend (Draft review) |
Content |
Few things in life are more relaxing than basking in the sunshine on a long weekend while reviewing the draft of the OACPH professional standards. That's what everyone was planning, right?
As you saw in last week's executive email, the Professional Standards Sub-Committee has developed a draft for membership review. We are looking for any feedback, but especially the answers to these questions:
- Are the standards in this draft easy to understand?
- Is there enough information for you to understand the purpose and intent?
- Are these articles appropriate for our membership (given the range of responsibilities and governance structures that we all have)?
- Is there anything that we’ve missed?
A few things to note:
- These draft standards would be the representative criteria for our membership. We want members to know that these standards discuss a broad range of tasks communicators may be involved in – they are not meant to be a list of what they should be involved in.
- These standards are not intended to stand in for employer policies or practices and will not be enforced by the OACPH. They are intended to guide a communicator’s decisions and actions, as well as identify their ethical responsibilities and commitments.
- The professional standards subcommittee is open to all feedback regarding format, wording, readability and clarity.
- However, we’d specifically like to know:
- Are the articles easy to understand?
- Is there enough information for you to understand the purpose and intent?
- Are these articles appropriate for our membership (given the range of responsibilities and governance structures that we all have)?
- Is there anything that we’ve missed?
Please comment below by May 21. Thanks!
